
The Director of the School of Magistrates, Arben Rakipi, who also heads the working group for the drafting of the new draft of the Criminal Code, has made public some of the main changes proposed in the draft, comparing the current Code with the new project:

Premeditated murder:
Current Code: 15-25 years, or life imprisonment in aggravated circumstances

Current code: 6.5 years

Intentional slight injury:

Prostitution:
Current code: 1.5 years or fine
Draft code: Aims for decriminalization and penalization – pending a separate law on security
Trafficking of adults:
Current code: 11.5 years

Trafficking of minors: Here we have followed a different policy towards those who commit criminal offenses against minors, this has a high purpose, child protection is concretized with this addition for those who violate minors in any aspect.
