The second roundtable of the technical presentation of the draft for the new Criminal Code is being held today. The meeting dedicated to the media and journalists, in collaboration with the working group for the drafting of the new Criminal Code, will take place from 10:30 to 12:00.
During this meeting, the innovations of the new Criminal Code will be presented, in relation to the existing one and to European standards. The working group will also present its positions regarding the articles that have been the subject of public discussion and comment after the first presentation of the draft.
"The Ministry of Justice, in cooperation with the Working Group for the drafting of the new Criminal Code, invites you to participate in the second round of technical presentation of the draft of the new Criminal Code, prior to the start of the broad public consultations that will be held on this draft.
During this activity, the innovations of the new Criminal Code will be presented in a comparative manner in relation to the current Criminal Code and to European reference standards. The working group will also present its positions on the articles that have been the subject of public discussion and comment after the first presentation of the draft.
This technical presentation is conceived as a follow-up to the activity held on July 25 and as part of the ongoing process of public information on the new draft of the Criminal Code, prior to the start of public consultations that will be held with all interested stakeholders, in order to be an active part of this important legal process.
During this roundtable, the media will also be informed about the anticipated calendar of public consultation rounds. The Ministry of Justice remains committed to the modernization of criminal legislation and the strengthening of the rule of law in Albania ,” the announcement states.
