Journalist Elkier Bushkolaj has commented on the visit of SPAK leader Altin Dumani to the US. According to him, the fact that the meetings took place at the State Department and not with his counterparts in the justice department shows that the visit had more of a political charge than a technical character.
" I believe that such requests did not have to go to the State Department office, they could also be made through the Embassy. What impressed me was that Mr. Dumani in the US did not meet with his counterparts, that is, with those directly related to the justice system, but was summoned to the State Department ," said Bushkolaj, invited to the "Ora e Betit" show on "Ora News".
According to the journalist, the State Department is an institution focused on foreign policy and not on technical justice, therefore the topics of discussion should be seen in this prism. He mentioned the latest State Department report on Albania, which highlights the pressures on the justice system and the media, as well as their links to organized crime.
" The US State Department has generally been specified for politics and normally the topic of conversation, beyond drug trafficking, I believe it was completely related to politics and there are several connecting points between Albania and the US. The topic of discussion there is the issue of USAID funds, a good part of which have also come to Albania for justice reform. Another topic that connects Albania with America is the name of Soros ," Bushkolaj said.
