An unexpected development has accompanied the disciplinary process initiated against Prof. Dr. Edit Xhajanka.
According to information provided from within the University of Medicine of Tirana, the disciplinary procedure has been suspended.
The same sources claim that this development came immediately after the involvement of the High Inspectorate for the Declaration and Control of Assets and Conflict of Interest (HIDAKKI). According to them, the institution has requested detailed information, as it has documentation related to the institutional activity of Prof. Dr. Xhajanka over the past few years. This documentation, according to the sources, includes important signals addressed by her within the University of Medicine, as well as to other state institutions, regarding issues of an academic, administrative and conflict of interest nature.
The issue has sparked widespread interest and discussion in the academic community, as Prof. Dr. Edit Xhajanka is considered one of the most prominent figures in Albanian dentistry, with a long career in teaching, research and academic leadership. She is highly regarded both in Albania and in international professional circles, and her contribution to the development of the Faculty of Dental Medicine is appreciated by many colleagues and former students.
The suspension of the disciplinary procedure is expected to open a new phase of this issue, which continues to be followed with great interest inside and outside the University of Medicine.
