Valon Lluka, the Administrator of the Company “Vlora International Airport – VIA Sh.pk”, has reacted after news spread in the media about his dismissal from his position. In a public statement, Lluka emphasized that he has not received any official notification from the competent authorities and that he learned the news only through media reports.
"I have not been officially notified of such a decision and I have not received any formal act or communication from the company's bodies. So far, the information I have comes only from the media. Any possible reason is not related to my performance or commitment as an administrator," Lluka said.
He stressed that during his nearly four years at the helm of the company, he has acted in accordance with the law, the concession contract and the principles of transparency. Lluka warned that he will pursue legal avenues to protect his rights and reputation, while accusing the shareholder of deviating from "the principles of good corporate governance and professional standards."
The Vlora Airport project, now in the final phase of works, has been described by Lluka as a major project for Albania. “For almost four years I have worked with maximum dedication to advance this project, which is on the verge of starting operations,” he said, expressing gratitude to the staff and partners who have contributed to its realization.

Dear colleagues,
Honorable citizens,
I am triggered by the reports and news widely distributed in the media regarding my dismissal from the position of Administrator of Vlora International Airport - VIA Sh.pk, after a period of almost four years in the management of this company of particular strategic importance for the Albanian state.
From the outset, I would like to emphasize that I have not been officially notified of such a decision and have not received any formal act or communication from the competent bodies of society. So far, the information I have comes only from media reports. As a result, I remain completely uninformed about the causes and legal reasons that may have motivated such an action.
However, I assure you that in the exercise of my duties as Administrator, I have always acted in full compliance with the Company's Statute, the Concession Contract, as well as all other applicable legal and regulatory framework. Every decision or act on my part has been based on the principles of legality, transparency and accountability, with the aim of developing and successfully completing this strategic and important project for the Albanian state.
That said, what I can communicate today with complete conviction is that any possible reason is not related to the performance, dedication, or conscientious and responsible exercise of my duties and obligations as Administrator.
In this sense, the reasons and motives for such a decision should and will be requested from the shareholder who has taken this decision, which constitutes a serious deviation from the principles of good corporate governance, ethical norms and professional standards that must be respected in the administration of a project of this nature.
In the current circumstances, I reserve and will exercise all legal means and avenues provided, in order to protect my rights and my professional reputation, as well as to clarify any misunderstanding or misinterpretation in public opinion.
Also, until further notice, I reserve the right to make any additional comments and invite the media to consider this statement as final.
In conclusion, I would like to emphasize that the Vlora Airport project has been and remains a project of particular importance to me personally and professionally. For almost four years, I have worked with maximum dedication to advance this major project, which is now in the final phase of works and on the verge of starting operations.
I express my sincere gratitude to the extraordinary staff of VIA for their professionalism and dedication, to the Albanian public institutions for their support and cooperation, to the financial institutions that have believed in this project, and to our subcontractors and partners, who have contributed with professionalism to its realization.
