Former MP Myslim Murrizi has published on social media a video of his speech in the Assembly in June 2020, accompanying it with a harsh message towards the political class and its critics.
In his post, Murrizi writes that years ago he was labeled a "traitor" when he declared that the political elite was united in its interests, while today, according to him, many of those who opposed him are defending the same positions.
" When I said that the political elite is united for its interests, quite a few of you 'revolutionaries' of June 2026 called me a 'traitor', while today's 'lovers' of Flamingos were delirious and kept their eyes, ears and minds on Flamingo, Aruba and Bogota for the next load. But better late than never ," he says.
In the published video, Murrizi reiterates that the country's main problem is not individuals, but the political system established after the April 2008 agreement.
" Put your finger on the only wound that the rotten Albanian political system has, which has seized the state and power by the throat. The collapse of the dirty bargain of April 2008, which was made for the narrow interests of the party leaders. The others collapse on their own like rot built on this stench ," he writes.
According to the former MP, any attempt at change remains futile unless, as he puts it, "the root of the problem" is touched.
" Don't mess with the branches. Put your finger on the wound. As long as the April 2008 bargain is not broken, everything else is just a facade. That is the foundation on which this political system is built ," continues Murrizi.
At the end of the post, Murrizi calls on followers to listen to the full nine-minute video, describing it as a reminder of the positions he has held for years regarding the Albanian political system.
