Ilir Meta left prison cell '313' today and arrived in the village of Çepan in Skrapar, where the farewell ceremony for his father, Rexhep Meta, who passed away the day before, will take place.

The leader of the Freedom Party left this morning from detention facility 313, where he has been held since October 2024. His transfer to Skrapar was carried out under special security measures.

Meta's escort was organized by the General Directorate of Prisons in cooperation with the relevant institutions, with the aim of his participation in his father's funeral ceremony.

According to the set program, the funeral ceremony will be held at 12:00 in Çepan. 

Rexhep Metaj, father of the former President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, has passed away at the age of 83.
