Over 26,600 high school graduates across the country have begun their State Matura exams, where today they will be tested in a foreign language.
Testing starts at 10:00 and will end at 12:30, in accordance with the calendar approved by the Ministry of Education and Sports.
To carry out the process, 144 exam centers have been set up throughout the country, while more than 170 monitors from the Ministry of Education are closely following the progress and compliance with procedures during the testing.
According to the official calendar, after the foreign language exam, high school graduates will take the Albanian language exam on June 9, the mathematics exam on June 16, while the elective subject exam will take place on June 23.
The Minister of Education and Sports, Mirela Kumbaro, has stated that preparations for the State Matura have begun in December 2025, with the approval of the new regulation and the publication of model tests for high school graduates. According to her, the process was also preceded by mock tests at the exam centers, where all the conditions for the test were simulated, including logistical organization and security measures.
Kumbaro announced that this year's regulation provides for stricter measures compared to last year, defining more clearly the obligations, responsibilities and sanctions for administrators and structures involved in the process.
Meanwhile, the use of mobile phones, smart watches and any other electronic devices remains prohibited during the exams. The Minister has warned that any violation of this rule will result in the immediate exclusion of the high school graduate from the exam.
