Criminalistics expert Ervin Karamuço spoke about the protests and violence recorded by private police in Zvërnec. He was asked if it is normal for private police to operate with masks and hoods.
Karamuço said that it is a flagrant violation of the law to hide identity. He added that the state police, even when wearing masks, have an identification number, a list of people involved in a certain activity.
He described this as an intolerable act and that it is criminally punishable to attack citizens while wearing masks. Karamuço compared the masks to those of gangs.
" This is the most flagrant case to point the finger at the state police, which cannot be tolerated, for there to be negligence towards these security groups, whether powerful companies or others, who think they are the masters of a certain territory, the master of the territory even of private ones in the case of events is only the state police."
All the black shirts, the black T-shirts that act as paramilitary groups should be clear about this. No force in Albania can take over the powers of the state police, and the state police cannot give up their powers by becoming inferior to these paramilitary troops.
This was a mistake by the Vlora district police department, which has been turning a blind eye to some investors and some bandits for some time. I will tell you that yesterday, there was a siege of some areas in Vlora because there are some bases of criminal groups that are still active and the police there have been sleeping while these clashes over Zvërnec took place.
"So it is a chain of command in complete negligence that I am telling you will also be prosecuted, but this is a lesson for all other police departments and for the state police as an organization that cannot once again cede its powers and duties to the government in service of private individuals, third parties and these irresponsible groups ," he said, among other things, when invited this Monday to the "Now" show with Erla Mëhilli on Euronews Albania.
