Journalist and analyst Frrok Çupi has commented on recent developments related to Greece's reactions to the incident in Zvërnec, accusing the Greek state of interfering in Albania's internal affairs and trying to incite tensions.
Çupi said that Athens is "playing with fire," while arguing that its goal is to draw the Albanian factor into an unnecessary conflict.
"Greece is playing with fire. The whole goal is to draw the Albanian factor into the conflict. Albania is the only factor in the region and in the Balkans that is not in conflict and that maintains stability," he declared.
According to the journalist, the launch of investigations by Albanian justice bodies into the incident in Zvërnec shows that the event is being treated seriously by institutions and there is no need for external intervention.
Çupi went further in his statements, claiming that behind Athens' reactions lie broader political objectives, which according to him aim to exert pressure on Tirana.
"The fact that a prosecutor is launching an investigation mainly means that the matter is being taken seriously. The launch of an important investigation mainly proves that this does not happen in Albania. Greece is playing with fire. Drama and tragedy have been committed. Chameria comes to cover up a Greek "dirt".
The whole goal is to capture Tirana. Tirana must fall. Greece is attacking Tirana to take over the government. This is straightforward. The Greek state can bring out the tanks tomorrow, according to its own mind, but I don't believe it because today it committed the greatest injustice, because it attacked Albania with civilians. This is not a protest of the people.
"It is very clear, the whole goal is to draw the Albanian factor into the conflict. Albania is the only factor in the region and the Balkans that is not in conflict. The only factor that maintains stability is the Albanian state. Drawing this state into the conflict means that a ring of fire will be created that divides Europe from Russia," he said.
