After the serious incident that occurred this Thursday in Maliq, Korça, where a police officer was killed and another was injured during an operation to capture a person wanted for years, journalist Artan Hoxha provided more information regarding the perpetrator of the murder, Violand Braçellari.
According to Hoxha, Braçellari was an experienced shooter and that he had it as a kind of warning to the police that if they tried to arrest him, he would shoot them.
Meanwhile, Hoxha also emphasized that dozens of operations have been carried out to arrest Braçellari, while according to him, the perpetrator had left the scene of the incident where he shot the police officers the day before and had gone to Lozhan and raped another person.
Meanwhile, he emphasized that the author is not a shepherd who only dealt with livestock, but also with the cultivation of narcotics.
" Secondly, we wish the other police officer, Edison Adri, a speedy recovery. He is also the father of a child, the child was born only six months ago. There are two police officers, if you look, they have been in the police ranks for approximately 9-10 years. So they are not young, they are not inexperienced police officers. So they are parents, parents as police officers. I hope that the other police officer gets through it without consequences, even though the blow he received was to the head. If you look, both preliminary data because we do not yet have the full expertise, but they make it clear that the perpetrator was hit in the head, and a shooter, a shooter who hits the head clearly proves that he is an experienced shooter, with experience, he was an armed force and he did not shoot as a warning. So he had it as a kind of warning to the police that if they try to arrest, whoever tries to approach him, he will hit. And today he did exactly that.
So he hit the police officers and the hit to the head is not a blow to defend himself, it is a blow to eliminate them, and I said he is not an ordinary shooter. So this is not an operation that is simply about a wanted person. Albania has many wanted persons. I have seen them when our special teams operate for wanted persons and yes, RENEA went there because I have heard many versions today about the event. So this is not a name heard by us in Tirana, but for the area there, for the Korça police it is a very well-known name. He is a man who has been wanted for at least 15 years. Dozens of operations have been carried out to arrest him, he has been sentenced all the way to the Supreme Court. Now a new process has begun against him. So he is a man who has operated in his own area, in his own basin and unheard of, without attention from us. So he has not acted as a structured criminal group in itself. So it looks more like a lone wolf there, rather than the fact that he is staying in the stable. Of course he had people around him, because he was not alone, but I am not talking about what we are usually used to and we have an idea of how criminal groups operate in the country. The last policeman that comes to mind who was killed is the case of Lezha. Then there is Ibrahim Basha in Lazarat, then we have another policeman who was killed in Fier if you remember, who was killed by Mërmica in Fier just for stopping him on the street.
Yesterday afternoon, the perpetrator Violand Braçellari descended armed with an automatic rifle in the village of Lozhan. From the stable he went to Lozhan and there he raped a citizen from Lezha. In Lozhan. Now we are in the time of that damn cannabis. We are in the cannabis season. The perpetrator of the crime is not just a shepherd who deals with cattle. He deals with cannabis cultivation. Those there are warehouses for drying cannabis, in addition to the cattle stable that he keeps because they are very large and it seems. But they are many because he does not have 2000 cattle there. It looks like he is in the jungles of Colombia. So laboratories are set up in such areas. So he found a well-controlled mountainous, forested area, it has a strategic point. He kept a kennel with dogs there, he had trained about 15 dogs that do not need a camera. And he had those dogs, he had them as commandos. They informed about every movement. "Every movement that was there, his dogs, besides announcing, were also aggressive. People were afraid to approach there and he keeps the dogs for this purpose. So we are not simply dealing with a shepherd there who is dealing with livestock protection ," Hoxha told Euronews Albania.
