Shkëndija's dream of reaching the Champions League group stage is over. The Tetovan team was defeated 5-1 by Karabakh.
The first half of the match ended with the score 4-1 for the Azerbaijanis, sealing their qualification for the next round. The Red and Blacks of Tetovo started the match very well, finding the goal in the 10th minute, a fantastic assist from Ibrahim, which was perfectly converted by Tamba.
But the home team reacted very quickly, turning the tables, initially with two goals in 2 minutes. First an unfortunate own goal by Klinsman Cake and then Kadi Borges' goal after 120 seconds. Akhunxhade scored the third in the 33rd minute, while in the 35th minute it was Jankovic who scored the fourth goal from the penalty spot.
As if this result wasn't enough, Karabakh also scored its fifth goal in the 59th minute with Leandro Andrade.
The adventure of Shkëndija e Tetovo will continue in the Europa League play-offs where they will face the loser of the Ferencvaros-Ludogorets pair.
Participation in the Conference League groups is assured for the team from North Macedonia.
