Even though Erling Haaland's World Cup journey with Norway ended in the quarterfinals, the forward continues to be in the spotlight. This time, not for his performances on the pitch, but for an unusual souvenir he decided to take home from the United States.
Norway was eliminated after a 2-1 loss to England, a challenge in which Jude Bellingham scored two goals and secured the "Three Lions" qualification to the semi-finals, where they will face Argentina on July 15.
During the tournament, Haaland was one of the most commented footballers by fans, not only thanks to his performances, but also for his humorous posts on social media, his close relationship with Jude Bellingham and the trend he created with his style called "Scandinavian Summer".
However, what has attracted the most attention in recent days is a stuffed raccoon, which the 25-year-old striker bought as a souvenir during his stay in the US.
Haaland was photographed getting off the plane with a raccoon figurine in his hand, while the object depicts the animal holding a bottle of whiskey. According to reports, the souvenir was purchased at Wild Bill's western store in Dallas and costs around £560. It is marketed under the name "Whiskey Raccoon H-MT-F".
But that wasn't the only souvenir the footballer took from Texas. According to reports, he also bought cowboy hats, boots, belt buckles and a T-shirt with the humorous inscription: "You can kiss my Dallas."
The Manchester City striker himself shared a photo of the raccoon with his Instagram followers, writing: "Help me name my new friend."
He asked fans to vote among four names: “Kowboy,” “Ranger,” “TEX,” and “ROW (Raccoon on Wheels).” At the end of the online vote, the name “ROW” was the most popular.
In another post, Haaland accompanied the photo with another joke: "He followed me home."
The special souvenir quickly went viral on social media, with fans widely sharing photos of Haaland with his raccoon, making this episode one of the most talked-about off-field moments during the World Cup.
