A few hours before the highly anticipated 2026 World Cup semi-final between France and Spain, expectations for the winner remain balanced. Analyzing the semi-final against Spain, Morientes said that Deschamps will have no problem adapting the strategy according to the characteristics of the opponent and may choose to leave possession of the ball to Luis de la Fuente's team.
"Deschamps has no problem acting on reality. And the reality is that Spain are better than France with the ball. Let him give them the ball. It suits him that Spain has possession," he declared.
According to the former Real Madrid player, France's plan will focus on exploiting the spaces that the Spanish defense may leave.
"Their game will be to run into space," he added.
In conclusion, Morientes revealed that Deschamps can also use the statements of Lamine Yamal and former Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy to motivate his players before the challenge.
