Nearly 30 years after Baba Vanga's death, the Bulgarian prophetess's name has returned to the spotlight after an interview given by Zdravka Yaneva, her daughter-in-law. She has shared for the first time personal memories and claims of predictions that, she says, have never been made public.
In an interview with Bulgarian media, Yaneva confessed that she had known Baba Vanga for many years before marrying her son. According to her, from the very first meeting, the prophetess had told her that one day she would become part of the family.
Yaneva says that, although Baba Vanga had lost her sight, she was able to accurately describe events from the lives and family histories of the people who visited her. According to her, Baba Vanga did not consider this ability a gift, but a heavy burden.
The part that has attracted the most attention in the interview is related to a claim of a dark prediction. According to Yaneva, Baba Vanga had spoken of a long and bloody war, which would bring serious consequences for many countries, without specifying a specific date.
She also claims that Baba Vanga had warned of a difficult period after the conflict, accompanied by hunger, poverty and great social upheaval.
The interview also mentions other claims related to geopolitical developments. According to Yaneva, Baba Vanga believed that the dominance of the United States would not be permanent, while Russia would go through major crises, but would remain an important power.
