Journalist Drini Zeqo shared an unusual story during an interview on the show "Live From Tirana", where he recounted a case that surprised him.
As he revealed that his paternal grandfather had given him the name, he revealed that everyone in his family has Albanian names.
"I'm glad you ask me about this, because they ask me about my name but no one asks me who decided on it. My paternal grandfather decided on it. It has nothing to do with our background, because we are originally from Korça. He just liked it as a name. We all have Albanian names in our family, my sister is called Bora, my father is Ilir and my mother is Irena ," he said.
Drini further revealed that the name has also influenced the way he perceives himself.
"I think that the name identifies us. Over the years, as our personality is formed, certain names influence this process. For example, people named Guxim are courageous, while the names of mountains or rivers carry a special strength. When I go to the Drin River, it is a very beautiful feeling," said the journalist.
However, the most interesting moment of the interview was the story of an unusual mix-up with a prosecutor who shares the same first and last name.
"There is a prosecutor named Drini Zeqo. When he was going through the vetting process, one day his voluminous file arrived at the Klan editorial office, where I worked. Everyone started congratulating me and asking me what I was doing with the papers for the prosecutor. I told them it wasn't my file and that the post office had mixed up the address. Then they sent it to another Drini ," he confessed.
The journalist added that the confusion didn't end there. After the prosecutor's name was published following the completion of the vetting process, he received a flood of congratulatory messages from people who thought it was him.
"The pearl was when people started approaching me who wanted to meet me. I've never met the other Drin, but if he listens to this interview, I would tell him that we would be very happy to have a coffee together," he concluded with humor.
