Pop music icon Madonna has openly expressed her concern about the impact of artificial intelligence on the artistic industry, describing it as a threat to creativity and originality.
In an interview with Vogue Italia, the artist said that the increasing use of algorithms and artificial intelligence is pushing creators towards safe choices, diminishing the courage to experiment.
"Artificial intelligence is the opposite of risk-taking and, to me, that's the opposite of art ," Madonna said.
She also made a comparison between today's industry and that of previous years, emphasizing that artists used to be inspired by collaborations with creators from different disciplines, while today, according to her, greater importance is placed on the number of followers on social networks than on artistic talent.
However, Madonna clarified that she has also used artificial intelligence on some projects, but only for creating visual effects and promotional materials. She emphasized that AI has not been part of the composition or creation process of her music.
The artist also spoke about the biographical film of her life, a project that was canceled after several years of development. According to her, the main reason was a disagreement with the studio regarding the budget needed to make the film.
"I was not willing to make compromises that would harm the quality of my story ," Madonna emphasized.
