The police in Spain have arrested five people who, claiming to be the Hollywood star Brad Pitt in fake profiles created on the Internet, deceived two women and took 325 thousand euros.
"Those arrested contacted women from a fan page of the Oscar-winning actor and made them believe they had an emotional relationship with them," the Spanish Civil Guard said in a statement.
Posing as Pitt, the gang members then allegedly encouraged the women to invest in various non-existent projects. One woman, from the southern region of Andalusia, received 175,000 euros, while the other, from the northern area of the Basque Country, lost 150,000 euros.
We recall one of the most serious cases for Brad Pitt: a few months ago, the news came out that he had an affair with a woman from Granada, to whom he owed 170,000 euros. How is it possible? Well, it's very simple: Brad Pitt had no idea about it. The lady fell into the trap of a fraudster who pretended to be a famous actor and ended up taking huge sums of money from her.
The woman has denounced the fake Brad Pitt with whom she had a serious relationship for a fraud of more than 170 thousand euros. The story started after following a fan club of the actor through Facebook. Since then he started contacting many people and from one thing to another... He started talking directly to Brad Pitt.
The performance was so good that it won the trust, friendship and then the unconditional love of the woman from Granada. Apparently, the scammer sent her photos from his red carpet events and staged messages that went directly to her. The relationship was so intense that "Brad Pitt" promised her that he would come to Spain to see her.
But that's not all! He was going to Spain to record a movie together. Who hasn't ever fantasized about starring in a romantic movie with Brad Pitt himself? Well, he almost accomplished it, but in his dreams, of course. It turns out that he started asking her for money to pay for the trip and ended up receiving 170,000 euros from her through bank transfers.
Seeing that the promises he made were not being kept, the woman finally decided to file a complaint.
