American billionaire George Soros was not present at the lavish wedding of his son, Alex. The 39-year-old ended his bachelorhood on June 14, when he married Huma Abedin, a former close aide to Hillary Clinton.
Page Six reports that although the groom's father did not attend the ceremony, the 94-year-old threw a private party for the couple the day before the wedding. The party was reportedly officiated by a rabbi and an imam.
A source told Page Six that he and his wife, Tamiko Bolton, "held a private family ceremony Friday morning at their home."
The same source assured that Soros is "in full health," when asked if his absence from the wedding was due to health reasons.
Alex Soros exchanged vows with the 49-year-old in a lavish ceremony at his Water Mill mansion in New York City. A host of celebrities from the worlds of politics and entertainment were in attendance.
Foreign media write that guests included Bill and Hillary Clinton, Kamala Harris and Doug Emhoff, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, comedian Jimmy Fallon and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
Meanwhile, the 39-year-old shared a photo with his father on social media for Father's Day, in which they posed together, writing in the caption of his post: "Happy Father's Day! This holiday was special this year."
