Former US Ambassador William Walker stated that he is willing to testify at the Special Court in The Hague in support of former leaders of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), emphasizing that they "should not serve a single day in prison."
According to A2 CNN, Walker made these comments during a conversation with Albanian students at Harvard University. He stated that change should come through the law and not through the judicial process, suggesting a review of the legal framework related to the Special Court.
Walker, known for his role in documenting the 1999 Racak massacre, said he was willing to be a key witness in the trials taking place in The Hague. He has also covered the event in his book "Racak - A History of War Crimes."
In response to a question about Kosovo's development as an independent state, Walker assessed that the country today has "the most developed democracy in the Balkan region."
The discussion at Harvard also focused on his experiences and interpretation of the events of the war in Kosovo, particularly the Recak massacre, where 45 civilians were killed.
