KFOR Commander, Major General Ozkan Ulutas, has said that NATO member states are still concerned about the violence that occurred in 2023 in Banjska and Zvecan, as he reiterated the NATO Secretary General's call that they expect Serbian authorities to "play their role" in this matter.
He told Serbian media that the security situation in Kosovo is peaceful and did not highlight any changes since 2023, the case in Banjska and the violent protests by Serbs in the north.
" I have not noticed a significant change, but the situation is still sensitive, which is a result of unresolved problems," he said.
According to him, when it is said that the situation is sensitive, it means that it is a safe environment, but that political tensions have not disappeared.
Regarding military cooperation between Kosovo, Croatia and Albania, Ulutash said that the transformation of the Kosovo Security Force began in 2014 and has the support of many states.
"NATO membership does not prevent alliance members from implementing additional agreements on cooperation, including military exercises ," he stressed.
