The head of the 'Thurje' Initiative, Endri Shabani, in a media appearance from the Municipality of Tirana, expressed his position regarding the Municipal Council meeting regarding the decision for Mayor Erion Veliaj.
Shabani said that at the meeting it was decided that Veliaj would not be present in the hall.
"Veliaj has been in prison since February 10. The law is clear that after 3 months of absence, he is dismissed. An hour of debate was held because the opposition's demands were not included. Today, the SP members came to their senses and are voting for our demands. There were no arguments, but it was not accepted that Veliaj come to the Municipal Council hall today," said Shabani.
