Evi Kokalari, the Albanian-American activist, has reacted to the tensions and clashes that arose between some DP exponents and their supporters with journalists, who were reporting on what was happening on 'Zogu I' Boulevard in Tirana, at a time when less than 1 km away, the works of the Political Community were taking place, attended by European leaders.
Kokalari, given the incidents that occurred during the protest, writes on the social network that Sali Berisha's DP is ultimately a party of violence.
"Ultimately, Berisha's DP is a party of violence. It took me a long time to understand and believe it, but it was clear why Berisha never canceled January 8. All the chances were that there would be violence, but Berisha wanted it. My naivety in explaining to him that armored doors cannot be opened with a regular 'locksmith' and the cement pillars they wanted to use to open the doors.
That day, in addition to the Democrats, the journalists and cameramen whose duties required them to be there and report were also poisoned.
To this day, I have never heard Berisha or others in that party apologize to the Democrats who were present, nor to the journalists who owed nothing to either party.
Then the violence continued in Parliament. Now that they have lost precisely because they are this low, they turn on journalists, both male and female, attacking even the protesters who are rightly upset by this profound loss.
I am speechless, and I hope that the honest democrats of the re-established Democratic Party react and apologize to the journalists for what happened today.
"They don't deserve it," Kokalari writes.
