Lost his mandate as MP/ Batuta of Qefalia: I hope Rama voted for me

Xhemal Qefalia, current Socialist Party MP, who failed to win a mandate in the May 11 elections, spoke for the first time after the result.

Invited to the News 24 studio, Qefalia expressed his gratitude to the voters and confirmed his unwavering commitment to the Socialist Party and its objectives.

Qefalia said that he will not leave political life and civic engagement, adding that he will continue to remain active within the SP structures.

 "We will be together to continue and take Albania to the European Union. Wherever I am, I will be the voice of the representatives who voted for me. I will never abandon them, just as they have never abandoned me," he said.

Also commenting on the voting process, Qefalia added with a dose of humor: "I voted in the same place as the prime minister, I hope the area's MP voted."
