A 38-year-old man has been arrested by the Vlora Police after he was caught driving around with a firearm and a grenade in his vehicle.
Ermal Hamzo , who was arrested in the area known as "Kthesa e Pilurit" in Himara, has been arrested . During a search of his bag, officers found a pistol with a magazine loaded with cartridges and a grenade.
After the arrest, the police also searched the 38-year-old's apartment in Vlora, where another pistol, combs, combat ammunition, two bulletproof vests and two multifunctional vests were seized.
Two firearms, grenades, ammunition, vests, the vehicle in which the arrested person was traveling, as well as two mobile phones, were seized as material evidence.
According to the police, Hamzo has a criminal record for crimes against the person. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unauthorized possession of a uniform".
"2 firearms, 1 grenade, combat ammunition, 4 bulletproof/multifunctional vests, 1 vehicle and 2 cell phones were seized."
The 38-year-old man who possessed them, a citizen with a criminal record for crimes against the person, was arrested.
He was caught red-handed by the Police in Himara, driving a vehicle, carrying a pistol with a cartridge in the chamber and a grenade.
As a result of increased controls in the territory, within the framework of measures to increase security parameters, prevent and combat criminal activities, the services of the Himara Police Commissariat, in cooperation with the services of the "Eagle" Special Force Sector of the Vlora Police Department, based on information obtained in operational channels, organized and finalized the operation codenamed "Security 2".
As part of this operation, citizen EH, 38 years old, resident of Vlora, with a previous criminal record for crimes against the person, was arrested in flagrante delicto.
This citizen was stopped by the Police while driving in the area called "Kthesa e Pilurit", Himara. After stopping the vehicle, during a search of this citizen's bag, the Police found 1 firearm, a pistol with a comb loaded with cartridges, and 1 grenade.
Subsequently, during the search of the 38-year-old's apartment in Vlora, the Police found 1 firearm, a pistol, combs, combat ammunition, 2 bulletproof vests and 2 multifunctional vests.
The 2 pistols, grenades, combs, combat ammunition and 4 bulletproof/multifunctional vests were seized as material evidence, along with the vehicle and 2 cell phones.
The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, for further action, for the criminal offenses "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Unauthorized possession of a uniform", the police announced.
