A State Police employee has been arrested by the Police Supervision Agency, under suspicion of abuse of office and illegal organization or practice of gambling.
According to the AMP, the arrested person is Lutfi Dervishi , a Community Policing Specialist Assistant, who covered the Fushë-Krujë area. Investigations have raised suspicions that he was linked to the illegal activity carried out by two other people, who were also arrested during the operation.
Sabah Stafuga and Fatmir Stafuga were also arrested , suspected of the criminal offenses of "Organizing or conducting gambling activities in violation of the law" and "Production and sale of narcotics."
During the search of the police officer's apartment, investigators seized 119 9 mm caliber cartridges. Meanwhile, in the premises allegedly used by the other two arrested individuals, electronic devices suspected of being used for gambling, computer servers, a DVR device, materials for packaging narcotics, as well as a small amount of suspected narcotics were found and seized.
AMP informs that Lutfi Dervishi is charged with "Abuse of office" and "Organizing or engaging in gambling activities in violation of the law", while Sabah and Fatmir Stafuga are accused of organizing gambling in violation of the law, as well as producing and selling narcotics.
"Following the operation codenamed "Basti i Fundit", as a result of the investigative and procedural actions carried out, a police officer and two citizens were arrested in flagrante delicto.
Lutfi Dervishi, with the duty of Assistant Specialist of Community Policing, with the coverage area of the city of Fushë-Krujë, suspected of committing the criminal offenses of "Abuse of office" and "Organizing or exercising gambling activities in violation of the law", provided for by articles 248 and 197 of the Criminal Code.
During the search of the apartment, 119 9mm cartridges were found.

The arrest of citizens Sabah Stafuga and Fatmir Stafuga was carried out for the criminal offenses of "Organizing or conducting gambling activities in violation of the law" and "Production and sale of narcotics", provided for by articles 197 and 283 of the Criminal Code.
During the search conducted at the premises under investigation, the following material evidence was seized:
* 4 electronic devices (machines) suspected of being used for gambling;
* 2 servers/computer units, suspected of being used for illegal activity;
* 1 DVR device;
* 5 plastic-wrapped bags containing suspected narcotics, with a total weight of 2.22 grams;
* 6 small plastic bags containing suspected narcotics, with a total weight of 4.41 grams;
* 3 mobile phones.
Investigative actions continue to fully document the illegal activity, identify other possible persons involved, as well as identify and document any cases of favoritism, support or inaction by law enforcement officials.
"The Police Supervision Agency remains committed to fulfilling its legal responsibilities, applying equal standards before the law and zero tolerance towards any employee who, contrary to public duty and responsibility, engages in, favors or supports illegal activities," the AMP states.
