Gazment Bardhi is against the removal of Sali Berisha from the leadership of the Democratic Party.
In an interview for the show "Skedari Politik" on A2 CNN, Bardhi claims that the "Basha article" is wrong. According to him, no one should be denied the right to choose and he describes the "Basha article" as anti-democratic.
" I have said it and there is no secret. This was an early proposal in the DP that such a rule should be part of the statute. I was then against and I am against such a provision that I consider anti-democratic in a statute of a party that operates on the basis of democratic rules for two reasons; firstly because I appreciate that solutions are not mechanical, they must be logical and secondly there cannot be a statutory rule that prohibits an individual from a constitutional right, which is the right to be elected. Then it is the members of the party who decide whether someone should be elected or not. But denying the right to be elected by statute gives the DP statute an anti-democratic element within itself ," he said.
