After nine days of recounting 1,207 ballot boxes in the Tirana district, the process was concluded without producing any surprises. The final result remained unchanged, with the Socialist Party confirming 19 mandates, while the Democratic Party remains with 13, reinforcing the latter's deep loss.
The recount served to highlight some inaccuracies in the administration of votes, but had no impact on the distribution of mandates. Regarding this development, the DP MP, Dashnor Sula, spoke. He said that the Democratic Party made a mistake by using the strategy of dirtying the process.
"I don't think there is an agreement between the SP and the DP and I don't doubt such a thing and you should trust me on this. I think it's mostly human error, but the tactics, let's say, of the Democratic Party and the opposition were wrong, they treated it from the perspective of making the process dirty, finding problems. I think that was the problem here ," Sula told "Report TV".
On the other hand, he said that no enumerator or commissioner has received a directive for distortion, with the exception of very sporadic cases, given by certain individuals.
" I think that no commissioner and no counter trafficked, sold or bought votes, but simply because of human error. But simply, even if there was, it was because of a political order, which could have been from a political individual of the DP ," said Sula.
Further, Sula said that this process proved that Berisha's alibi, that the elections were stolen, does not hold up.
"This was a good thing because it verified the truth of the electoral process, always regarding the box, the voting day, the counting process, the identification of the vote and for political parties and individuals, because if it had not been opened, we would have had major problems because it would remain an enigma and would be misused. They would say that those were the votes that were verified. I say this because I see that the DP continues to transfer the problem only to the opponent. The opponent has that job, that goal, to deform the result, but how strong are you yourself to not allow him to do such manipulations ," said Sula.
On the other hand, Sula also mocked the DP representatives, saying that no one will be held responsible.
"If it weren't for the elections, they wouldn't have entered the elections at all and wouldn't have gone to parliament now. They come to parliament now and some 'grains' put them in for a laugh and the situation is normal. If you looked at it yesterday, the only person, it's not a matter of boasting, but responsible in fulfilling the constitutional duty that I stayed until the end was me. They stayed yesterday while Berisha spoke, there was that chaos for half an hour and they went to coffee, some for lunch, some at home and some, as the people of Shkodra say, a warm nap", said Sula
In the end, Sula says he will present a platform to help the DP and gives his suggestions regarding the future of the DP.
" Now if Berisha is smart, for me there is a way to solve the problem. From the general secretary, vice-chairmen and below, there should be a total scan and he should definitely give young people opportunities. I am preparing a platform of what I think would be good for the DP. The young people who produced votes on the open list and have the favorability of the electorate are the ones that should be supported. Now there are no longer two poles, because before there was Gaz Bardhi's group and Berisha's group, now for me there are three. One is the group that represents Berisha who does not think at all, one is those who think differently at dinner and change it in the morning, and another group of young people who I think are fighting to get in," concluded Sula.
