This Sunday, tributes were held for the passing of renowned stage and cinematographic actor Fitim Makashi, who passed away yesterday at the age of 82.
In addition to being known for his roles and contribution to the performing arts, the deceased was also known as the father of the famous artist, singer Redon Makashi.
During today's tributes, Euronews Albania was close to family and friends to get an assessment and details regarding his figure and departure from life. His son, Redon Makashi, also spoke to the media microphone, who was tearful and emotional during the interview, expressing that this loss of his father still seemed like a dream to him.
"It happened to us like this, like a…. And at the time we are talking together, it seems like a dream. Friends have respected my father a lot and this takes away some of that pain. These have been a generation that will never return. Their sincerity and their company… At home, he would talk about his friends, but also about his friends who had gone before him. However, it is a pain that we only feel inside. He broke away from the theater early, because those riots happened and during that period he, like his mother and father, were forced to flee to America for 15 years. And every time I saw them return from that country, they always returned older and older. I also told them to stay in Albania, because they had friends and acquaintances here. Life abroad was not easy. However, today when I see his friends, it eases my pain a little. But it is an incurable pain," said Makashi.
