The suspected perpetrator of Martin Can's murder, Marjo Përlleshaj, has testified for the first time in the Tirana Court, where his trial is underway. The testimony was requested by the prosecution and was given in the presence of a psychologist. It is learned that in most of the answers to questions related to the dynamics of the event, the minor stated that he did not remember.
Regarding the cutting tool, he stated that he did not have a knife with him that day, but that he found a cutting tool on the street. He admits that the causes of the fight were a continuation of the arguments of 3 days before the event where he claimed that he was punched by Martin Cani. The latter sent him an invitation to “SnapChat” according to the defendant, where the arguments continued.
The suspected perpetrator claims that they left him to explain himself on Monday, the day the serious incident occurred. The hearing was held behind closed doors, while the prosecution and the court have been continuously interested, warning the parties to maintain investigative secrecy due to the minor age of the perpetrator and the victim.
We recall that the serious incident was recorded on November 18, 2024 in Tirana, just 200 meters from the "Fan Noli" school.
