Police have cracked down on two cases of illegal possession of firearms, arresting two people and prosecuting another.
Two people were arrested after illegal firearms were found in their vehicle. In addition to the illegal pistol, one of them was also found with 40,000 euros in cash, which is suspected to have been the proceeds of criminal activity.
During the operation, 21-year-old Petrit Kurti was arrested, who was caught during a physical search with a pistol. While his uncle, 46-year-old with the initials AK, was released.
Also arrested was 30-year-old Halit Ajazi, who was found with a pistol and 40 thousand euros. He was equipped with an authorization to carry a firearm, only in the apartment, while there was no document justifying the amount of money. Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the money.

2 pistols, combat ammunition and around 40,000 euros suspected to be the product of criminal activities were seized.

As a result of systematic controls and those based on information obtained operationally, with the aim of guaranteeing public safety and preventing criminal events, Police Commissariat No. 5 and the Special Force "Eagle", in cooperation with the Criminal Assets Tracing Section, struck during the last 24 hours, 2 cases of illegal possession of firearms. Specifically, within the framework of the "Contingent" operation:
- citizen PK, 21 years old, was arrested and his uncle, citizen AK, 46 years old, was released on bail. During the physical search, on “George W. Bush” street, where the 2 citizens were traveling together, the 21-year-old was found to be in possession of 1 firearm, a pistol with ammunition, which he possessed without a permit. Meanwhile, the 46-year-old has obstructed the discovery of the truth, by giving contradictory statements about the case;
-Citizen HA, 30 years old, was arrested because a search of the vehicle he was driving on "Dritan Hoxha" street found 1 pistol and about 40,000 euros. He was authorized to carry a firearm, only in his apartment, while he did not have a document to prove the amount of money. Investigations are ongoing to determine the source of the money ," the police announced.
