Police have seized a number of properties in Gjirokastra, suspected of being used for crime.
The properties are in the name of 45-year-old citizen, KB, also known as SB, a resident of the village of Valare, who is suspected of having built a financial "empire" through drug trafficking.
The operation was carried out within the framework of a property proceeding led by the Prosecutor's Office at the Gjirokastra Court.
Among the seized assets are: a four-story hotel and a bar-cafe in the "18 Shtatori" neighborhood, a two-story building with an attic in Valare, another two-story building, a plot of land (car service) in the "Grehot" neighborhood, a bar and a luxury Audi Q7 vehicle. 8 other vehicles, distributed in his name and those of his family, have also been seized, for which work continues to locate and block them.
The materials have been passed on to the Prosecution for further investigation, and this is another case that highlights the way drug traffickers attempt to legalize criminal proceeds through seemingly legitimate businesses.

Seizure is being imposed on assets (buildings, businesses and vehicles) which are suspected of having benefited from the criminal activity of citizen KB, alias SB, 45 years old, resident of the village of Valare, Gjirokastër, in the field of narcotics trafficking.
The Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, in cooperation with the Agency for the Administration of Seized and Confiscated Assets, at the Ministry of Interior, within the framework of a property proceeding conducted under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, has seized the assets of citizen KB, alias SB, and his family members, suspected of participating in a group involved in drug trafficking activities. Specifically, the following were seized:
-Local bar-cafe and four-story hotel, in the "18 shtatori" neighborhood, Gjirokastër;
-Property of the type two-story building + attic, with an area of 393.3 m2, with a construction area of 131.1 m2, in the village of Valare, Gjirokastër;
-Property of the type two-story building with a building area of 235 m2, in the village of Valare, Gjirokastër;
-Property of the type of land (car service), with a surface area of 1216 m2, with a construction surface area of 276 m2, in the "Grehot" neighborhood, Gjirokastër;
-Property of the building type (premises) with a surface area of 30 m2, in the "Grehot" neighborhood, Gjirokastër;
-1 vehicle type "Audi Q7".
Eight vehicles owned by the 45-year-old and his family members have also been seized. Efforts are underway to locate them.
The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action.
