"Metamorphosis"/ SPAK demands 15 years in prison for Behar Bajri and

Within the framework of the "Metamorphosis" file, SPAK has filed a claim against 7 defendants.

The court process for the "Metamorphosis" file continues, while the SPAK Special Prosecution Office has today filed a claim against 7 defendants involved in serious criminal cases.

Two of the defendants, Edmond Preka and Oltian Bistri, were also present at today's court session, while the prosecution requested severe sentences for some of the suspects.

The prosecution has requested 15 years in prison for Behar Brahovic, 14 years in prison for Pëllumb Gjoka, 11 years in prison for Edmond Preka, 10 years in prison for Asmer Bilali, 9 years in prison for Ardit Hasanbegaj and 6 years in prison for Xhevahir Lita, who are accused of criminal offenses related to criminal organizations and illegal activities.

The trial is expected to continue with the defense's closing arguments and then with the jury's decision.

SPAK has also requested the confiscation of Oltion Bistri's assets, worth 1.3 million euros.

According to the prosecution's request, the requested sentences are as follows:

Behar Brahovic – 15 years in prison

Pëllumb Gjoka – 14 years in prison

Edmond Preka – 11 years in prison

Asmer Bilali – 10 years in prison

Oltian Bistri – 9 years in prison

Ardit Hasanbegaj – 9 years in prison

Xhevair Lita – 6 years in prison

Several people have been arrested in the SPAK operation called "Metamorphosis", including former senior State Police leaders, prosecutors and businessmen. The former director of operational forces at the State Police, Oltion Bistri; the head of the Kukes prosecutor's office, Xhevahir Lita, businessman Pëllumb Gjoka, Astmer Bilali, Ardit Hasanbenga and Edmond Preka have been arrested. The former head of the Operational Forces, Oltion Bitri, is accused of "abuse of office" and issuing secret acts, while prosecutor Xhevahir Lita is accused of corruption.

Another police officer who was dismissed from duty a year ago, Ardit Hasanbega, who was part of the Shkodra police, is suspected of having helped members of the Bajri group to commit the attempted murder of Ibrahim Lici. Most of the people involved in the criminal group remain wanted, namely Ervis Martinaj, Denis Bajri, Klaudio Haka, Prek Kodra, Aleks Ndreka, Arsat Bashli, Bardhyl Marvraj and Elion Hato.
