After 6 hours of negotiations, the two armed men who were isolated in an abandoned apartment in the village of Orosh in Fushë-Arrëz, 24-year-old Juljan Çumraku and 34-year-old Arben Uka , have agreed to surrender.
The police's ongoing negotiations have yielded results. After previous attempts with the brother and then the sister of one of the armed detainees, the police have managed to convince them to leave the apartment.
Arben Uka and Julian Çumraku are believed to have previously been to Syria and belong to terrorist organizations. 34-year-old Arben Uka, also known as Hamza Uka, was reportedly a Commando in the Albanian Army. The latter was previously wanted by anti-terrorist forces.
The anti-terror operation, which has been underway for hours, is still in progress to secure the area and verify potential threats.
It is reported that RENEA forces will search the area with dogs for weapons and explosives that may have been hidden by the two people.
The two young men had been hiding in this apartment for 1 month. One of the armed men was heard shouting 'Allahu Akbar'. The house where they were hiding is owned by Mehill Jaku, while one of them is reported to be his nephew.
