An event that could have ended in tragedy was recorded on the road to Theth, in the Shkodra region, where a large stone broke off a rocky massif and fell on a vehicle in which a group of tourists were traveling.
According to preliminary information, the rock hit the vehicle while it was moving, causing material damage. Fortunately, none of the tourists were injured.
Footage from the scene shows the vehicle damaged by the stone, while the incident has brought to light the danger posed by rock slides along several road axes in the country.
Rock slides and landslides continue to be a problem on some road segments, especially in mountainous areas. In recent months, similar incidents have been reported in the Elbasan region, where falling rocks have created a danger for drivers.
The event on the Theth road once again brings to light the need for monitoring and securing road segments exposed to rock slides, especially during the tourist season, when traffic to mountainous areas is higher.
