A serious incident occurred a few minutes ago in Butrint, where a foreign citizen who was with a group of tourists visiting Butrint lost his life.
According to police, the foreigner who died in Butrint is Klaus Geyer, 75, from Germany. It is suspected that death came from a heart attack, which may have been caused by the high temperature.
His body is in the hospital morgue and will be sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Tirana for forensic expertise.
"Today, at the place called "Butrint Castle", during a tourist visit, it is suspected that the German citizen GY, around 75 years old, died of natural causes. The investigation team is working to fully clarify the circumstances of the case," the police announced.
