Dashnor Dumani, the brother of Nuredin Dumani, has been arrested in Dubai.
It is still unknown on what date Dumani was arrested, but the State Police announces that extradition procedures have already been finalized and he will arrive in Tirana this Wednesday afternoon.
Journalist Sokol Bregu says that the arrest and sending of Dashnor Dumani to Albania is not related to the fact that he is the brother of Nuredin Dumani, but to the fact that there is an agreement between the Albanian state and the United Arab Emirates.
According to Bregu, the people accused of murder will be brought to Albania.
'It has nothing to do with the fact that he is the brother of the repentant Nuredin Dumani. But it has something to do with another fact, with an agreement that has been in the works for some time between the Albanian state and the United Arab Emirates.
Those who will be brought first are all on a list, those accused of murder, those accused of drug trafficking and tax evasion may be spared, as they are not considered high-risk in the country where they live and invest large amounts of money.
These should be the 8th or 9th in line. To my knowledge, there are other detainees who are expected to come. There are some detainees who are being arrested for the second time who will come.
I don't know how this agreement was reached, since we don't have an extradition agreement with the Emirates. Is this a diplomatic, political move by the Albanian government, because it seems that it is not a written agreement, but an understanding between the two states.
Bregu further said that during the summer, people with a lot of influence in the criminal world will come to Albania.
Those who will come are very prominent figures in the criminal world in Albania and are expected to be extradited.
"Some of Albania's leading figures will be coming this summer. There are quite a few," said Bregu.
