A 28-year-old man has been arrested by the Kavaja Police after he staged his own kidnapping with the intention of deceiving his father and obtaining money.
According to the official announcement, the young man, along with a 45-year-old man from Durres, fabricated a false story, claiming that the 28-year-old had been kidnapped and that a sum of money was being demanded for his release.
The accomplice was caught red-handed in Durrës, while demanding the 28-year-old's father's money. About 100 meters from the scene, the police found the "kidnapper" himself, who was immediately arrested.
Preliminary investigations also suspect that he had previously taken the vehicle from his father and sold it. Both individuals are being investigated for the criminal offense of "Fraud", committed in collaboration.
"Crime Investigation Specialists at the Kavaja Police Station arrested in flagrante delicto citizens LC, 28 years old, resident of Kavaja, and BK, 45 years old, resident of Durrës.
The investigative actions resulted in the citizen LC deceiving his father, citizen BC, by telling him that he had been kidnapped and that a sum of euros was required for his release.
Citizen BK was caught red-handed in neighborhood no. 16 of the city of Durrës, demanding money from citizen BC, claiming that it would serve to release his son.
About 100 meters from the scene, the Police services also found the 28-year-old, who was arrested in flagrante delicto, after it turned out that he had staged the incident and had taken the vehicle from his father two days earlier, and is suspected of having sold it.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Kavaja, for further actions, for the criminal offense of "Fraud", committed in collaboration," the police announced.
