Daniel Pepa, the perpetrator of Florian Paluçi's murder, claimed that he fired the gun in self-defense, as Florin Paluçi was the first person to fire a gun, killing his friend, Aranit Kurti.
The perpetrator maintained this stance after surrendering to the Durrës prosecutor's office, which is investigating the double murder case that occurred at midnight on October 22, 2025.
The young man was then escorted to the Durrës police station, where during questioning, he claimed that if he had not shot at Florin Paluç, he would have killed him like he killed his friend Aranit Kurti.
Both parties were armed that night, and initially clashed over the espresso machine, which was turned off and the waiter could not serve coffee.
Daniel Pepa, in the presence of his lawyer and a judicial police officer, argued that he shot due to severe psychological shock and necessary self-defense, after Paluçi killed his friend first and then risked shooting Daniel Pepa as well.
But despite this testimony, in this criminal event, the strongest evidence is the film footage which has documented the entire dynamics of the double crime.
Always referring to the footage, the police say that the first to shoot was Flori Paluçi, who fired once at the ground. He then pointed the gun at Daniel Pepa and opened fire on him, but was unable to kill him.
Daniel's friend, Aranit Kurti, who was very close to Florian Paluçi, punched Florian Paluçi in the face and ran away from him.
But Paluçi shoots once with a pistol at Aran Kurti, where the bullet penetrates his body behind his back and hits his heart, killing him instantly.
Amidst this whirlwind of gunfire, Daniel Pepa opened fire only once, shooting Flori Paluçi in the back, who after making several unconscious movements fell and died.

After these actions, Daniel Pepa, along with Ergi Kadiu, Erald Cani, Taulant Beqja and Emirjan Beqja, left the scene, only to return to the scene a few minutes later.
Pepa then finally fled, failing to be caught by the police. But a few days later he surrendered to the Durrës prosecutor's office and is expected to appear before the Durrës court today or tomorrow to be informed of the security measure "arrest in prison".
