A 49-year-old woman has been arrested by police in Tirana after she was selling stolen and smuggled clothing from Greece.
The 49-year-old sold clothing in the store she managed in the Yzberisht area of the capital.
After the police check, a considerable amount of clothing without a purchase receipt and without a customs invoice was discovered. The 49-year-old arrested woman has been identified as Estela Kapo.
"As a result of the cooperation of the Tirana DVP structures with the Criminal Investigation Directorate at the DPPSh, the police operation codenamed "Outlet" is being finalized."
A case of smuggling into Albania of suspected stolen goods in Greece is being investigated.
A shop in Yzberisht, where smuggled goods (clothing) were being sold, is discovered and blocked. The store administrator is arrested.
Investigations are ongoing to identify other citizens involved in this activity.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Investigation Section, in cooperation with the Directorate for Large-Scale Crimes at the DPSS, as a result of the administration of information obtained regarding a case of smuggling of goods, organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Outlet", as a result of which the citizen was arrested:
-EK, 49 years old, resident of Tirana.
During the search of the commercial entity managed by this citizen, on "Demneri" Street, Yzberisht, a considerable amount of various clothing was found and seized, for which she did not have customs documentation or purchase invoices.
"The procedural materials have been referred to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office for further action," the police announced.
