Loses trial in Dubai, Durim Bami will be extradited to Tirana; journalist

One of the well-known names in the criminal world, known as one of the strongmen of Fushë-Krujë, is expected to be extradited from Dubai to Tirana. It is Durim Bami, who is one of the people also wanted by SPAK.

Journalist Elton Qyno, referring to his sources, announces the news of the extradition, while stating that the suspect in several serious criminal events in Albania has lost the final trial in the Dubai court and very soon, the authorities will begin the process of extraditing him to Albania.

" The arrival of Durim Bami in Tirana is seen as a victory in the corridors of SPAK, where special prosecutors have hopes that the 46-year-old can cooperate with the investigating authorities.

Currently, the criminal case against Durim Bami has been completed and sent to trial by SPAK.

While the official charges against him are serious, such as "Providing the conditions to commit the murder" of former SP MP Arben Ndoka, "Providing the conditions to commit the murder" of Hektor alias Tori Xheçuka and Erigers Mihas, committed in the form of a "Structured Criminal Group".

At the same time, Durim Bami is also accused by SPAK of "Cultivation of narcotics" carried out in collaboration in the form of a "Structured Criminal Group".

Durim Bami's arrest in Dubai was carried out on October 21, 2024. This was the second time that Durim Bami was arrested by Dubai police, after he had violated the rules of appearance in one of the Dubai police regions.

He was first detained in June 2024, following an arrest warrant issued by SPAK in May 2024. He was soon released by the court, receiving a residence permit and a guarantee to appear at the police station whenever necessary for verification.

But Durim Bami did not respond to three e-mail calls from the Dubai police to verify him, which led to his arrest for the second time. Bami claimed that he had not seen the e-mails and therefore did not physically appear at the police station on the scheduled day and time.

But these claims did not help him get released from prison. Durim Bami has now lost the court process, paving the way for his extradition to Albania.

"It is in this country that he will face several charges that lead to his risk of being found guilty and could be sentenced to up to 20 years in prison ," writes journalist Qyno.
