SPAK has provided information regarding the investigation of electoral crimes for the May 11 elections, while the opposition led by the Democratic Party has declared that it does not recognize the result and claims that the Albanian vote was distorted.
Through the transparency program, SPAK was asked how many cases it decided not to initiate investigations related to electoral crimes, while the Special Prosecution Office emphasizes that 43 decisions were made not to initiate investigations due to the lack of elements of a criminal offense.
"In total, there are 43 materials registered as criminal proceedings/investigations (one was registered separately from a previous proceeding), while there are 43 decisions not to initiate a criminal investigation, due to the lack of elements of a criminal offense," is the official announcement of SPAK.
The opposition claims that the 'Bulgarian train' phenomenon was applied on May 11 as one of the ways to manipulate the election results. The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has published a series of images that, according to him, show electoral manipulation, while he has stated that cartels have determined the results in several districts.
