A serious incident occurred in Elbasan where a 6-year-old boy was found dead on the banks of the Shkumbin River.
According to the police, the citizen with the initials D. A, at around 7:50 pm yesterday afternoon (May 10), had reported that her nephew had gone missing.
After the police launched a search, the minor's lifeless body was found on the banks of the Shkumbin River in the "Çezme" neighborhood. During the preliminary examination of the 6-year-old's body, no signs of violence were found, and preliminary investigations suspect that he drowned in the river.
"Around 19:50 on 10.06.2025, citizen DA reported that her 6-year-old nephew had been missing for 3 hours. Immediately, the Police services began searching for the minor and around 21:30, they found his lifeless body on the banks of the Shkumbin River, specifically in the "Çezme" neighborhood."
"During the preliminary examination of the minor's body, no signs of violence were found and from the investigations so far, it is suspected that he drowned in the river. The procedural materials were referred to the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, for the purpose of legal assessment of the case," the police announced.
