Vlora police have found and seized the firearm with which the 17-year-old girl is suspected of attempting to end her life 3 days ago.
According to the official announcement, the pistol-type weapon was found hidden in a garbage dump, near the apartment of the minor's grandparents, and was inside a plastic bag.
The weapon has been seized and will be sent to the Scientific Police Institute for further examination, in order to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident.
"Following the investigations into the incident that occurred on 14.07.2025, in the "Kushtrimi" neighborhood, where a 17-year-old girl was seriously injured after attempting suicide with a firearm, it was possible to find and seize, as material evidence, a pistol firearm, which had been thrown into a collection area for various household materials, near the apartment of the minor's grandparents and was located inside a plastic bag," the police announced.
The seized weapon will be sent to the Institute of Scientific Police for further examination, in order to fully document the event.
"The additional materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Vlora, for further action," the police said.
