
A person has been arrested by Tirana police after deceiving a citizen by saying he would provide documents to travel to the US, in exchange for a sum of 21 thousand euros.
According to the police, citizen Ahmet Bellahu, previously wanted and sentenced by the Tirana Court to 6 years in prison for fraud with serious consequences, has been arrested.
It is learned that 40-year-old Bellahu had obtained 21,000 euros from a citizen, deceiving him by saying that he would provide him with travel documents to the United States of America.
"He took 21,000 euros from a citizen, deceiving him that he would provide documents to travel to the USA, the 40-year-old was caught and sentenced to 6 years in prison for this crime."
As a result of the controls and operational work, with the objective of capturing wanted citizens, accused/convicted of various criminal offenses, the services of Police Commissariat No. 2, in cooperation with specialists from the Section for the Investigation of Economic and Financial Crimes, finalized the operation "Pasoja", during which the wanted citizen, Ahmet Bellahu, 40 years old, was located and detained.
The Tirana Court sentenced the 40-year-old, in 2024, to 6 years in prison for the criminal offense of "Fraud", with serious consequences.
"This year, he took advantage of a citizen, 21,000 euros, through the deception that he would provide the necessary documents to travel to the United States of America," the police announced.
