A 43-year-old man has been arrested by the Shkodra Border Police after he was caught helping immigrants from third countries cross the border illegally.

According to police, the 43-year-old was arrested in the village of Vukpalaj while transporting 6 immigrants (3 from Syria and 3 from Egypt) in a vehicle, who were attempting to cross the border with Montenegro.   

Klajdi Llozhi was transporting them by vehicle for a fee of 400-500 euros per person. The arrested person was previously convicted of the same criminal activity.

"The police operation codenamed "Borders 4" is finalized."    

A 43-year-old man has been arrested for helping immigrants from third countries, in exchange for a payment of 400-500 euros, to cross the borders illegally.   

The 43-year-old was caught red-handed, in the village of Vukpalaj, transporting 6 immigrants (3 from Syria and 3 from Egypt) by vehicle, who were intending to cross the border with Montenegro.    

The arrested person, previously convicted of the same criminal activity.

The vehicle in which he was transporting the migrants and his cell phone were seized.

The Border Police Services, based on information obtained through operational channels, have organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Borders 4" for a case of providing assistance to foreign citizens, in return for payment, for illegal border crossing. As a result of this operation, the following citizen was arrested in flagrante delicto:    

-K. Ll., 43 years old, resident of Mamurras, for the criminal offense of "Aid for illegal border crossing".  

Investigations suspect that this citizen was helping to transport immigrants from third countries, who were illegally entering Albania from Qafë Bota, by vehicle, for a fee of 400-500 euros per person, and then intended to cross into Montenegro.

"Investigations are ongoing to fully document this criminal activity, identify and apprehend other citizens who may have been involved ," the police announced.
