Two young Albanians, aged 21 and 23, died in the tragic accident.
A serious accident occurred today in Italy, where two young Albanians lost their lives. The tragic accident occurred shortly after 7:00 am on Sunday morning on the southern ring road of Bergamo, near Stezzano.
According to foreign media, it is reported that a "Mercedes Benz" vehicle collided with a van and as a result three people lost their lives, including two young people of Albanian origin.
The victims are Clinton Sala, 23 , the driver of the Mercedes, and Denis Cana, 21, a passenger in the vehicle. The two were friends and were traveling together.
The third victim is Oscar Angioletti, 62 years old from Zanica (Bergamo), who was in the van with his 64-year-old brother, who was seriously injured.
According to preliminary investigations by the Carabinieri, the Mercedes attempted to overtake another car in a continuous double lane, entering the opposite lane and colliding head-on with the van. It was trying to overtake a Hyundai with two women in it and collided head-on with the white van driven by the Italian.
Emergency crews, firefighters and traffic police responded to the scene. The road segment where the incident occurred was closed for several hours for investigations.
