A serious accident occurred this afternoon on the Korça-Devoll axis near the village of Cangonj, where a vehicle fatally hit a pedestrian.
According to information, the pedestrian was crossing from one side of the road to the other when he was fatally struck by the car.
Due to the injuries sustained, the pedestrian could not survive and died. Police have arrived at the scene and are launching investigations to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
"Around 11:45, on the "Korça-Devoll" road axis, at the Progri intersection, citizen HK, with the vehicle he was driving, collided with citizen HR, about 79 years old.
"As a result of the collision, the HR citizen lost his life at the scene. The driver of the vehicle was escorted to the police station for further procedural actions," the police announced.
