DP MP Gjin Gjoni, known for his attacks on SPAK and the Justice Reform, declares villas, capital and hundreds of thousands of euros in loans, while arguing that he has secured his assets through honest work. But the facts published by "Pamfleti" show a complete history of concealment: reports of unjustified assets, vetting avoidance, businesses declared at a loss, manipulated balance sheets, deregistered companies that continue their activity and unpaid tax obligations. From Rinas stores to farms without balance sheets and from "laundry" companies to undeclared law offices, Gjin Gjoni's financial profile exposes the classic model of illegal enrichment of the old justice caste, which today poses as the country's moral opposition.
The DP MP who attacks SPAK and screams against justice reform, corruption, money laundering, and who sheds crocodile tears for the poor is former judge Gjin Gjoni, expelled from the justice system and today sheltered in parliament.
His wealth gives the impression that he owns factories and industries. He has two villas with an area of 2516 m² and 970 m² worth 1.3 million euros, several apartments, capital of 1.6 million euros, several bank accounts and together with his wife they have given a loan of 900 thousand euros.
Three facts that reveal the source of wealth and fraud
In his statements, Gjin Gjoni claims that he acquired his assets with savings from his salary and from his and his wife's businesses. But three facts refute this claim.
First, in May 2014, the Asset Declaration Inspectorate filed a criminal complaint against him for concealing assets and the case was investigated by the Elbasan Prosecutor's Office, but his fellow prosecutors and judges dismissed him.
Secondly, Gjin Gjoni deliberately avoided vetting, resigning out of fear of assets secured through court bargains and connections to crime figures.
Third, he states that he has assets from businesses, but the facts published by "Pamphlet" show that his seven businesses are loss-making, with minimal profits, deregistered or in the process of liquidation due to bankruptcy and tax and customs obligations.
The stunts of the Gjoni–Çaushi couple with the "laundry" companies
The company "Albania Duty Free Distribution", which manages the shops inside Rinas Airport, owned by Elona Çaushi, the wife of Gjin Gjon, has declared a balance sheet with losses ranging from 3 million to 90 million lek in the years 2021-2024.
The company "Bio Gourmet", which imports and exports food and beverages, has declared losses of 23 to 40 million lek.
The company "Best Buy Drug Store", now called "German Market", with the object of importing and exporting sanitary and industrial products, has declared a loss of 50 to 60 million lek.
The company “ALBCOS – Albanian Cosmetics”, with the object of import-export and trade of health and cosmetic products, has declared minimal profits, from 50 to 80 million lekë, which represent only 20 to 30 percent of the real profit. In the years 2012–2014, the Gjoni–Çaushi couple has suspended and resumed the company's activity five times, manipulating the financial balances. On October 30, 2024, the Tax Directorate blocked the shares and capital for tax debts.
The company "Vintage Second-Hand e New", which traded used clothes, has not declared tax balances since September 2012. On August 10, 2015, it was placed in liquidation and on August 25, 2017, it was deregistered. But the activity continues outside the tax system.
The "Agro Gjoni" farm in Lezha, established in March 2018, where Gjin Gjoni is a partner with family members, has not declared any tax balance for seven years.
The law firm "G&G LAW FIRM", established on October 19, 2020, one month after Gjin Gjoni was disbarred from the judiciary, has been operating without declaring tax balances for five years.
