Polanski says he wants to “make sure the media has an easy access point” to the party, and the Green leader seems willing to go to places where he will have to fight too, including a colorful on-air battle with Piers Morgan.
The self-proclaimed “eco-populist” leader of Britain’s Green Party couldn’t be further ideologically from the fiery right-winger Nigel Farage.
But as Zack Polanski leads a surge in his party's poll ratings, he is actively channeling the Reform UK leader's media strategy and putting himself at the forefront of the argument for change.
"I don't want everyone to agree with what I or the Green Party are saying," Polanski told Politico, adding "what I want everyone to know is that I will always say what I want to say."
'Climbing to the top'
Polanski won a landslide victory in the hotly contested summer election for the leadership of the Green Party, giving him the reins of a party that made strong gains in recent elections but still has only four members of Parliament.
Although the Greens emphasize that many spokespersons will continue to represent the organization, he undoubtedly dominates media appearances and the party is pushing him as an electoral asset.
"We were reaching a maximum level that you could only reach with the game on the field," Polanski reflects on the Greens' past performance.
Next month, he will tread a well-trodden path for British politicians looking to raise their profile with an appearance on "Have I Got News for You," the BBC's satirical show that pokes fun at politicians.
Despite its shameless reputation, it is a national institution and a strong part of the establishment with a huge national following. Previous guests include Farage himself and Boris Johnson.

He has even launched his own podcast, which is currently ranked ninth in the UK Apple Podcasts charts for political shows.
Some of the numbers lend credence to the Green leader's theory about the case.
The party now has more than 150,000 members, according to its own estimates, compared with 68,500 when Polanski took over. That puts it ahead of the Conservatives and Liberal Democrats in terms of membership.
Polanski also appears to have overseen a steady rise in the polls for the left-wing group, as evidenced by the Politico poll. "There's a clear, clear rise," says YouGov's European Director of Political and Social Research, Anthony Wells. He is already much more popular than [predecessors] Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay, he says.
The politics of persuasion
